RAW Announcers hint at WWE turning Roman face

Is the WWE planting the seeds for Roman Reigns to go from villain to hero? Some fans tuning in to the 2 May RAW got the impression the WWE is turning Roman face following the announcers’ comments during the Bloodline’s entrance. Wrestling News’ Paul Rodriguez pointed out:

Reigns got cheered by a large portion of the audience as he made his way to the ring with The Usos and Paul Heyman. After the entrance, the announcers acknowledged that Reigns was getting a “mixed reaction” from the crowd. If that was a line from Vince McMahon, then it’s another sign that Reigns’ babyface turn could be coming soon.

Although it’s unknown just when the WWE would turn Reigns (assuming the company plans on turning him), there are a number of booking obstacles in the way including who the WWE would book him against as its big shows such as SummerSlam and Clash at the Castle (aka the WWE’s Cardiff premium event). Will the WWE book Roman against babyfaces there such as Cody or Drew McIntyre? If not, who does it see as viable heel opponents?

The WWE may take its time with Reigns’ face turn and there doesn’t seem to be a need to rush it as Bloodline merchandise reportedly is still selling well and Vince McMahon may be happy not to rock the boat. The WWE needs to think Reigns’ face turn through carefully, unlike its hotshot booking of putting both the WWE and Universal Championships around Roman’s waist. Otherwise, Vince McMahon’s rumored plans at turning Roman into a mega-star babyface could backfire, in effect returning to the days when Roman had go-away heat.

Do you think Roman Reigns is turning babyface and if so, is it a good idea? Let us know in the comments below.
