Just How Much Dough Do the WWE’s Saudi Shows Bring In?
The WWE Saudi Arabia shows surpass WrestleMania when it comes to bringing in the bucks, at least according to a recent report from Wrestlenomics.
Those numbers are even more impressive as they’ve been adjusted for inflation.
While there are plenty of reasons to criticize the WWE for its policy of running shows in a nation with a repressive government, there’s no denying the financial benefits it’s reaped both in terms of payouts and boosting its ratings for its relationship.
As WrestleLamia examined recently, this year’s Crown Jewel was the company’s most successful international premium live event in terms of viewership numbers.
WWE Saudi Shows Surpass WrestleMania
It’s clear the WWE has no problem justifying its holding the shows, proving Vince McMahon’s adage “it’s all about the mon-ney!”
Analysis: Bottom line, it’s all about the bottom line and these events are easy money. They bring the WWE big bucks for their profit margins and help fulfill its obligations to Peacock for two of its PLEs.
As WrestleLamia has mentioned here and on our YouTube channel, it appears the WWE is looking to expand its international PLEs, with one rumor stating the WWE intends to add a UK event to its annual schedule.
There may come a time when the WWE even expands its PLE events by one or two shows a year, providing more income.
