Update on Rumored Match at Elimination Chamber
Is the WWE reworking its plans for Damage-CTRL? More to the point, what happened to the rumored six-woman tag match between Becky Lynch, WWE Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus and Damage-CTRL at Elimination Chamber?
There was talk that Trish was going to appear on the 13 February RAW. Trish would help set things up for the match. Of course, Trish wasn’t there, so what happened?. According to Dave Meltzer:
Trish Stratus was at one point scheduled for Raw on 2/13 at the Barclays Center but it was canceled. The reports were it was due to Kai’s injury. On paper it sounds like they were trying to build Lynch & Lita & Stratus vs. Damage Ctrl. We were told that the Stratus angle isn’t dead and that the match wasn’t scheduled for Elimination Chamber.

WrestleMania would seem like the ideal venue for a match featuring two WWE Hall of Famers. However, Meltzer pointed out that:
Kai & Sky defending the women’s tag titles against Rousey & Baszler is still on for Mania. Whether that means Damage Ctrl would work twice over Mania or something completely different isn’t known at this point, only that there was a planned angle for this past week to bring Stratus back that was canceled and is still expected to be revisited at some point.

Where Might the Match Happen?
The six-woman tag match would be a good fit for SummerSlam (assuming Damage-CTRL is still working together). It could also work well for one of the WWE’s Saudi Arabia events. The Saudi Arabia sports authority likes to see WWE Legends and Lita and Trish certainly qualify.
As for the rumored Damage-CTRL vs Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler match, it’s unknown if the two teams will both work as heels going into WrestleMania. The WWE has not planted any seeds of either team turning babyface. However, there is plenty of time to do so between Elimination Chamber and ‘Mania.
