Back Up the Brink’s Truck

It looks like continued success for the WWE’s new regime as the WWE breaks a significant box office record for a show that hasn’t even been held yet.

The company issued a statement to PWInsider that its box office sales for the 2023 Royal Rumble have passed the $5 million dollar mark, a new record for ticket sales.

Wrestling News’ Andrew Ravens noted that the current record:

“is more than the previous record from 2017. That was the last time WWE held the Royal Rumble at the venue.”

WWE Breaks Box Office Record

Analysis: The WWE continues to bring in big-time bank as its product seems more popular than ever, especially at the box office. The WWE’s Clash at the Castle was a smashing success both in ticket sales and viewership numbers while WrestleMania XXXIX reportedly has sold around 50,000 tickets for each of the show’s two nights.

It will be interesting to see whether the WWE rolls out more stadium shows in 2023 based on the promotion’s momentum following Triple H’s assumption of creative control.

Congratulations to the WWE on their latest success. What do you make of this story? Let us know in the comments below.
