Daniel Garcia, Ricky Starks and Wheeler Yuta were almost WWE bound.
Popular UK based wrestling journalist, Alex McCarthy recently spoke to William Regal, and Regal shared some insight into three names he wanted to sign to NXT, just before WWE changed directive.
McCarthy would tweet:
“William Regal told me he was planning to sign Daniel Garcia, Ricky Starks and Wheeler Yuta to NXT before WWE ‘changed directive’”.
These are three of the biggest and brightest young stars in AEW currently, and they would have been great additions to the old NXT. Unfortunately, this was just before NXT transitioned into NXT 2.0, and their hiring practices were changed.
All is not lost however, as the three stars are in prominent positions in AEW, and it looks like they are going to be main eventers in years to come.
AEW’s next PPV offering will take place this Sunday, as they present Double or Nothing, headlined by Adam Page v CM Punk for the AEW World Title.
