Belief McMahon May Covertly Control WWE
Is Vince McMahon not retiring from the WWE? While Mr. McMahon made his shocking statement that he is retiring from the WWE, there are some who believe he will continue his involvement with the company he helped take to new heights.
This seems like a legitimate question since Vinnie Mac still owns a controlling interest in the WWE and his daughter Stephanie is working as co-CEO alongside Nick Khan.
Dave Meltzer contemplated the situation during the latest Wrestling Observer Radio:
“The people I was out with tonight are, you know, pretty savvy business people here… With major companies…Two of them just said, flat-out: “Co-CEOs never work,” which was an interesting thing.”

WrestleLamia wouldn’t be surprised if Stephanie McMahon focuses on the WWE’s creative end while Nick Khan continues handling the business end as he did during his successful run as WWE President.
For now, Stephanie will work on building the creative infrastructure to ensure the WWE has a satisfactory storytelling staff. This could prove a daunting task.
While this is only a theory, WrestleLamia feels this sets things up for Khan to eventually become CEO by himself while Stephanie moves to another role or steps down as she did earlier this year.
Vince McMahon Not Retiring?
However, none of this will matter if Vince McMahon continues running the company covertly, a scenario that Meltzer mentioned:
“One of them said that whatever anyone says, the guy who owns the most shares is still the guy who, in the end, has the power, and Vince, unless he divests himself, and he has not done that and I don’t believe he is going to do that until there is a sale.”

Vince’s involvement from behind the scenes could be difficult to prove (unless the TV product continues to be stale).
At the same time, if Vince covertly controls the WWE and the public learns of this what then?
WrestleLamia feels any secret dealings by Vince will become a problem if the investigation into McMahon’s alleged misconduct concludes he engaged in the misdeeds raised.
At that point, the WWE Board would have to distance Vince from the company, with the possibility it would ask him to divest himself of his stock.
