Wall Street Journal Reports Vince Wants to Return to the WWE
Vince McMahon is facing two additional accusations of sexual assault. That’s the report coming from the 13 Wall Street Journal which also includes rumors that the former WWE kingpin intends to return to the company he retired from earlier this year following the revelation of McMahon’s hush-money scandal.
The Journal reports:
today’s news is a story from The Wall Street Journal discussing two new accusations against Vince McMahon. The story also includes rumors that McMahon intends to return to the WWE. First, let’s look at the latest accusations:

The women in question are former WWF referee Rita Chatterton, who filed a lawsuit asking for “$11.75 million in damages after she publicly accused Mr. McMahon three decades ago of raping her in a limousine” and “a former spa manager said that Mr. McMahon assaulted his client in 2011 at a California resort, an incident previously unreported in the media” (H/T 13 December 2022 Wall Street Journal)
The Past Continues to Haunt
The Rita Chatterton case dates back to the 1980s and would normally be barred by the statute of limitations. However, New York State legislators passed the Adult Survivors Act, “which allows people to file civil sex-abuse lawsuits without regard to the statute of limitations” (H/T 13 December Wall Street Journal).
As WrestleLamia noted earlier this year, Chatterton would be able to sue McMahon in 2022, which she has chosen to do. McMahon has and continues to deny Chatterton’s accusations but the story has never gone away.
The other accusation involves a spa manager who accused McMahon of assaulting her in 2011. According to The Wall Street Journal article:
The former spa manager alleges she was assaulted by Mr. McMahon in 2011 at a five-star resort in Southern California while he was in town for a WWE event. The spa manager reported the alleged assault at the time to the resort, according to people familiar with the matter.The spa manager also told her husband about the incident, some of these people said. He drove to the WWE event with a baseball bat and tried to confront Mr. McMahon, but was turned away, according to these people.

Vince McMahon Facing Two Additional Accusations: How is McMahon Eyeing a WWE Return?
The WSJ report also revealed that McMahon has been eyeing a WWE return.
The 77-year-old Mr. McMahon also has told people that he intends to make a comeback at WWE, according to the people familiar with his comments. He has said that he received bad advice from people close to him to step down and that he now believes the allegations and investigations would have blown over had he stayed, these people said.

While the idea of McMahon returning to the company isn’t a shock (some fans believe McMahon still runs the WWE from behind the scenes), these accusations would seem to be the nail in the proverbial coffin.
However, not if McMahon is disputing the accusations and according to The Journal:

Analysis: The Wall Street Journal broke the story concerning McMahon’s hush-money scandal earlier this year and one can’t help but wonder if any other lawsuits will be filed.
The Rita Chatterton lawsuit is not a surprise as her name came up several times during the reports on McMahon’s payouts. However, this latest accusation raises the question of just how many new accusations might arise.
