“The Game” Says He’ll Answer the Phone if Punk Calls Him
Triple H on a CM Punk return: “Never Say Never.” What should fans make of this recent statement from “The Game?” Is Triple H being polite or is there a possibility that CM Punk will return to the WWE under the right circumstances?
The question was asked and “The Cerebral Assassin” kept things simple, noting he’d always answer the phone if Punk called but pointed out there would have to be interest from both sides.
The Curious Case of Colt Cabana
The 2 November Dynamite featured Colt Cabana challenging Chris Jericho for the Ring of Honor World Championship. It was the first time AEW fans saw Cabana in some time.
Colt Cabana’s appearance was seen by some fans as a way of AEW showing CM Punk he’s finished in the promotion. You may recall that Colt Cabana seemed to disappear from AEW TV once Punk signed with the promotion.
Some fans noted that Cabana’s falling out with Punk may have led to AEW pulling Colt from TV while Punk was present.
Cabana’s presence on Dynamite might be seen by WWE officials as something likely to get under Punk’s skin and motivate him to want to return to the WWE so he could stick it to AEW.
Triple H on CM Punk Return: “Never Say Never”
As fans know, if there’s money to be made, a promotion is likely to work with anyone, regardless of the past as long as assets (making money) outweigh liabilities (such as CM Punk being seen as backstage poison).
Indeed, Ringside News recently reported that:
“The only talk about CM Punk is among the talent, the writers, the producers, the TV production people and everyone thinks he is poison. Look what he did to the happy and motivated locker room of AEW.”

Punk is currently recovering from his latest in-ring injury and is not expected to be cleared to wrestle until sometime in 2023. For now, fans will continue to talk about Punk’s future. This will includes whether he’ll return to the WWE, go elsewhere, or retire,
