Wild Night of Tag Team Competition
Time for your SmackDown tag team tournament semifinals results. The 27 January edition of the blue brand featured the two second-round matches that will help determine the number one contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
SmackDown Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre Braun Strowman and Ricochet vs Hit Row (Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Top Dolla) with B-Fab:
Tonight’s match changed after The Viking Raiders ambushed Sheamus and Drew on the way to the ring. Both Brawling Brutes wanted to get their hands on Erik and Ivar so badly they said they’d skip their match against Hit Row.
However, Adam Pearce said there would be no win by forfeit. Instead, he booked a replacement team, sending Braun Strowman and Ricochet against the heels. While Hit Row was able to hold their own against Ricochet, they were no match for “The Monster Among Monsters” when he entered the match.
Winners: Braun Strowman and Ricochet
SmackDown Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals. Imperium (Ludvig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) vs Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro) with Zelina Vega:
This rare heel vs heel encounter saw Legado del Fantasma use their speed and aerial-based attacks to keep Imperium off-balance. Unfortunately, Imperium’s skills proved too much and an Imperium Bomb sealed Legado’s fate.
Winners: Imperium
