New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions are set to be crowned.
Last night on Friday Night SmackDown, WWE officially announced that Sasha Banks and Naomi had been suspended from WWE.
SmackDown featured a ringside segment where Michael Cole addressed the controversial situation. Cole said Banks and Naomi let “millions of fans” down on Monday when they walked off the show and out of the arena during RAW.
Cole also announced that a tournament will air in the “near-future” to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
All of Banks and Naomi’s merchandise has been removed from WWE Shop, and their official WWE Facebook pages have been taken down; however, several sources have confirmed that the popular duo have not been released from WWE.
Cole’s announcement has received a ton of criticism on social media. WWE, in particular Vince McMahon seems really hurt and angry over their walk-out, and it looks like WWE are trying to tarnish Banks and Naomi’s names.
