Will Rousey Be Able to Work WrestleMania?

Time for a Ronda Rousey injury update. Will Ronda Rousey be ready to rumble at WrestleMania and more importantly, will she team up with Shayna Baszler for a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Championship?

Rousey is said to be dealing with an old injury she reaggravated. This has prompted questions about whether “Rowdy” Ronda is cleared to compete. Rumors have circulated that Rousey and Baszler would fight for the tag titles at ‘Mania.

The WrestleMania match involving Damage-CTRL vs Lita, Becky Lynch, and Trish Stratus has only added to the mystery. Lita and Lynch are currently the women’s tag champs. If they wrestle against Damage-CTRL, will they then work both nights at Mania?

While we don’t know all the answers, Dave Meltzer is reporting:

“They still have a tag title match. There’s gonna be two matches coming out of this program. Whoever are the champions will wrestle Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, but they’re also doing the six-woman tag.”

H/T Wrestling News

The current talk is that while Rousey is dealing with the injury, she’ll be able to work in a tag match. This wouldn’t be the first time an injured wrestler has worked in a tag team match.

One of the most famous examples involves The British Bulldogs. In 1987, Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid defended the titles against The Hart Foundation, even though Dynamite was unable to wrestle.

Analysis: Hopefully Ronda is able to compete and the WWE won’t have her and Baszler win the titles, only for the belts to collect dust while Rousey recovers.

The WWE’s booking of the women’s tag titles has been erratic. The WWE needs full-time champions and several teams to defend them against.

What do you think the WWE will do with Ronda Rousey if she is unable to wrestle? Let us know in the comments below.
