SmackDown Women’s Champion is First-Round Pick

Rhea Ripley is drafted to RAW in round one of the WWE Draft. This of course is huge news as Ripley is currently the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ripley was RAW’s first selection in the first round, quite the sign of how highly she’s looked upon.

One question to ask is whether Rhea will join RAW as women’s champion. The Draft doesn’t go into effect until 8 May, which means Ripley may no longer be SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ripley faces Zelina Vega at Backlash and as fans know, anything can happen in the WWE.

If Ripley prevails, how will the WWE handle the exchange of titles? Will the RAW Women’s Champion (be it current champion Bianca Belair or challenger Iyo Sky) hand over the belt?

Analysis: At the risk of nit-picking, why is Rhea Ripley being drafted when she’s part of The Judgment Day? Tag teams and factions were drafted as individual picks on Night One. Did the rules suddenly change? If so, why didn’t Triple H announce this?
