What Was Supposed to Happen Before WWE Axed Match?
What were the original plans for the Bayley/Becky cage match at RAW XXX? As previously reported, the match didn’t take place thanks to The Bloodline’s Tribal Court segment running over.
Instead, fans saw Damage-CTRL lock “The Man” in the cage and beat her down until Adam Pearce and WWE officials were able to break into the cage and restore order.
However, PWInsider reported that the original plan was for Becky Lynch to defeat Bayley in the cage. From there, Damage-CTRL’s Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai would jump her, beating her down. (H/T Cageside Seats)
The WWE took advantage of the change in plans, with Bayley explaining her actions during RAW Talk:
Oh, I was supposed to be in a cage match because that’s what Becky wanted. Am I supposed to do whatever Becky wants? No, I have a mind of my own,” Dakota has a mind of her own. IYO has a mind of her own. We don’t have to listen to anybody. We are called Damage CTRL, which means we are in control. Okay, Becky doesn’t tell me what to do, when to do it, where to be, or when I’m gonna put my body on the line for this kind of match…”

Wrestling’s self-proclaimed “Role Model” continued explaining her actions:
“I’ll tell you right now. I was not afraid, I was smart. I’m smarter than Becky. I’m quicker than Becky. I’m more consistent than Becky. I’m a bigger star than Becky. I am the ultra superstar. It’s Raw XXX. So why go out there and hurt ourselves when we can enjoy the show, am I right?”

Bayley and her Damage-CTRL partners continue to be a thorn in Becky Lynch’s side and so far, Lynch hasn’t been able to overcome the numbers game. Don’t be surprised to see another cage match booked between the two in the near future.
