Triple Threat at Survivor Series Leads to New Champion
A new U.S. champion is crowned at Survivor Series: WarGames after Seth “Freakin'” Rollins battled Bobby Lashley and Austin Theory in a wild Triple Threat Match.
It was anybody’s match as all three men proved to be more than capable of winning the belt. However, like any Triple Threat Match, the third man’s presence also made it more difficult to win.
The match hits its peak after Bobby Lashley missed a Spear, hurling himself into the corner. Seth Rollins went after Theory, superplexing him and going for the Falcon’s Arrow. Unfortunately, Bobby Lashley Speared Rollins just then, allowing Austin to cover him and steal the win; and the United States Championship.
New U.S. Champion Crowned!
Theory’s win may be a bit of a fluke but it could be the start of a renaissance for a wrestler whose rapid rise led to talk of Theory becoming world champion before long.
His recent failure to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase had “A-Town” fans anxious about his push but if Austin can keep the title around his waist for some time, it could be confirmation of a promising future.
