Warner Brothers Discovery Reverses Rumored Refusal
Great news as Mark Briscoe is debuting in AEW on the 25 January Dynamite. This follows a recent report that AEW’s broadcast partner, Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD), refused to allow Mark Briscoe on AEW television.
Indeed, Wrestling News’ Angel Aramboles commented:
This is a huge shift because just a few hours ago, Dave Meltzer reported that the answer is “no” in regards to Mark being allowed to appear on AEW TV.

Now, AEW President Tony Khan is tweeting:
This should be a fantastic match as both men have wrestled each other before. It’s unknown what led to WBD reversing its policy concerning Mark Briscoe. It’s also unknown if the 25 January Dynamite will feature any other tribute to Jay Briscoe.

Analysis: This is great news for wrestling fans and a nice gesture by Warner Brothers Discovery. However WBD’s executives may have felt about Jay Briscoe’s past social media comments, Mark had nothing to do with them. Furthermore, many believe Jay Briscoe atoned for any inflammatory remarks from the past.
