Konnan Talks AEW President’s Feelings Towards Wrestling Rival
Is Tony Khan furious with the WWE? Is the animosity between AEW President Tony Khan and the WWE genuine? According to former wrestler Konnan, it certainly is. K-Dogg discussed the situation on an episode of his Keepin’ It 100 podcast:
I can confirm to you 100 percent [Tony Khan’s anger at WWE] is real and he was really pissed off when Dragon Lee beat FTR.

Konnan was referring to Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeating FTR for the Triple A World Tag Team Championship right before Dragon Lee jumped to the WWE. Khan apparently was unhappy with an AEW team losing to a star who was WWE bound.
Konnan explained he does his best to keep things smooth with Tony since Triple A and AEW work together. Konnan noted Khan had no problem when Konnan inducted Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame as Tony was well aware of the two luchadors’ long friendship.

Analysis: By now, one would think Tony Khan would know the WWE is looking to stay number one in the wrestling game. Part of that goal is crushing the competition, which means the WWE isn’t AEW’s friend.
While other companies have formed successful partnerships with AEW, the WWE is a different animal. The company’s history suggests it never works with another company unless the WWE has the advantage.
