Is the WWE Big on Dominik Mysterio? Dominik Mysterio’s heel persona seems to have connected with the WWE Universe as he’s quickly become the man they love to hate. However, what’s the WWE’s opinion on “Ex-Con” Dom?
According to WRKD Wrestling, things are looking good for Dominik:
Indeed, Dominik’s presence on RAW and SmackDown suggests the WWE sees him as a draw, much as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn show up on both main roster shows along with different members of The Bloodline. There’s a reason fans see said stars more than once a week as opposed to others such as Elias and Shotzi.
While Dominik isn’t at the same level as the Superstars we mentioned, he’s well on his way and it will be interesting to see how he fares once his feud with his father finishes.
The WWE has been building a Rey vs Dominik feud for years. Dominik has kayfabed the match by repeatedly telling interviewers he’d never wrestle Dominik. These interviews happened long before Dominik turned heel.
Such a feud could last several months and easily into SummerSlam. Some fans have speculated that the two’s blow-off match will be a mask vs hair match. Such a stipulation is deeply rooted in lucha libre tradition. Furthermore, the sight of a bald Dominik would likely help further his heel persona.
While many wrestlers Dominik’s size would struggle to get over, his size works well with his persona of a cowardly heel who hides behind his larger friends (including of course, his “Mami,” Rhea Ripley).
