Editorial: Is Sami Living Up to His Nickname “The Master Strategist”?
Is Sami Zayn playing the Bloodline? Fans have been talking about Sami’s sycophantic antics for weeks. Zayn has taken groveling to a new level towards Roman and the Uso.
Zayn has been pathetic in kissing up to Roman Reigns, taking beatings intended for “The Tribal Chief” and helping him out whenever possible.
The former Intercontinental Champion’s best friend Kevin Owens has questioned his motives as have other wrestlers like Ricochet and Madcap Moss.
Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that Zayn is making an ass out of himself and that sooner or later The Bloodline will tire of his groveling and dispose of him.
However, what if Zayn is merely playing the fool? What if this is part of a plan by Zayn to divide the Bloodline in an attempt to conquer Roman Reigns through brains rather than brawn?
Jey Uso seems to be the only member of The Bloodline who doesn’t trust Sami. Zayn’s character has always been portrayed as a weasel who knows how to get under opponents’ skin. Perhaps even more effective has been his ability to trick opponents into dismissing him as a buffoon.
Is Sami Zayn Playing the Bloodline?
SmackDown’s season premiere saw Logan Paul accuse Jey Uso of being the real “Tribal Chief” and while Paul’s divide-and-conquer strategy is smart, I think it opens the door for some shrewd Sami Zayn strategy.
Zayn has already befriended “The Enforcer” Solo Sikoa. What if Zayn is able to cause a rift in The Bloodline and cause a civil war?
It may seem far-fetched but it would be a good way of showing Zayn’s true danger to the WWE Universe.
While a match between Sami and Roman is likely to end up badly for Zayn, at least the storyline would be something fresh as Reigns has never faced an opponent as devious as Zayn.
