Even “Rowdy” Ronda Questions Her Booking
Is Ronda Rousey officially a heel? Fans have been asking whether the WWE had turned “Rowdy” Ronda heel ever since she attacked the referee after her SummerSlam loss to Liv Morgan (perhaps Ronda should have attacked whoever booked the match).
Ronda began acting heelish after her controversial SummerSlam loss to Morgan. At the same time, some fans wondered whether Ronda was merely being booked as an anti-hero, much like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was during the Attitude Era.
However, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting:
Although it has been obvious for some time this was the direction she was going in, we are told that WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey is now considered a heel internally.

“The Baddest Woman on the Planet” seems frustrated with the WWE’s booking of her. Rousey commented on her recent Extreme Rules Match against Morgan, noting the odd presentation of her as a heel:
[I] didn’t see that coming. I feel like that’s a double standard that everybody else gets to attack me from behind, gets to hit me with bats, gets to do all this other stuff, and [fan’s reaction are], ‘Oh what a commendable, inspiring babyface.’ So I’m like, what the heck. I can’t even be a heel when I’m a heel.

Is Ronda Rousey Officially a Heel?
Rousey wasn’t the only person confused by how Rousey was booked. Jim Cornette critiqued the booking during an episode of his podcast, The Jim Cornette Experience:
“So the babyface in this equation is trying to use a baseball bat against the heel, but the heel keeps taking it away from her and throwing it away. But God, I want to take drugs. How about a new drug, one that won’t make me watch wrestling? [co-host Brian Last asks, ‘Which drug is that?’] Whatever drugs these people are f*cking taking.

Analysis: Despite Triple H changing things up in the WWE, it’s clear that the promotion isn’t perfect.
One of the issues the WWE will have to address is whether the fans will embrace Rousey as a heel. The fans cheered Rousey for her attacks on Morgan. Was this a case of the fans disliking Morgan (who has been booed for some time now, despite being a babyface)?
The WWE will have to be careful in how it books Rousey. There have been complaints about Ronda’s booking ever since she returned to the WWE at 2022’s Royal Rumble. Fans have questioned why she is sometimes booked as a badass while at other times she’s struggled against Liv Morgan.
