Did Cash and Wheeler Dodge a Bullet By Staying in AEW?
FTR never intended to return to the WWE. That’s straight from FTR’s Dax Harwood himself. With rumors FTR’s AEW deal was up in April, fans were closely watching the tag team’s 5 April title match against AEW Tag Team Champions, The Gunns. The stakes were high, FTR would win the belts or say goodbye to AEW.
FTR’s win over The Gunns on the 5 April Dynamite saved them from having to leave AEW, but did the new AEW World Tag Team Champions have any intention of returning to the WWE after their AEW deals ended?
While FTR’s Dax Harwood teased a possible WWE return a while back with a tweet, apparently that wasn’t the case. Following the team’s win, a fan tweeted that the only reason FTR won the belts was that they threatened to head back to the WWE. Cash Wheeler tweeted:

Analysis: Given what appears to be a seismic shift in the WWE’s creative department, FTR and their fans must be happy they didn’t return to the WWE. WrestleLamia can only imagine what Vince McMahon would have planned for FTR.
