Former WWE Superstar Answers Ronda Rousey’s Challenge
Emma returns to SmackDown, making a major statement by answering SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey’s open challenge.
Ronda cut a promo running down the fans and issuing her open challenge. Emma’s music played as the announcers reminded fans of Emma’s past popularity.
The SmackDown announcers pointed out that while Emma had been absent from the WWE for nearly five years, she’s been competing around the globe. They also pointed out the new moves she’d incorporated into her arsenal.
Although Ronda Rousey was dismissive of Emma initially, the gutsy Australian native gave Rousey one hell of a match. Emma scored several nearfalls and fought her way out two anklelock attempts.
Emma continued her offensive but an eye rake by Rousey stopped Emma’s momentum. “Rowdy” Ronda hit the “Piper’s Pit” and locked in the armbar, finally forcing a submission from Emma.
Emma Returns to SmackDown
While Emma came up short against Ronda Rousey, it was clear Emma is no one to underestimate.
