Edge Tells Corey Graves What Went Wrong

Edge says he couldn’t get his heel turn over as leader of The Judgment Day. The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared on Corey Graves’ After the Bell podcast. “The Rated-R Superstar” apparently feels the fans love him too much to boo him.

During the interview, he said his run as the leader of The Judgment Day didn’t work because he has such a strong bond with the WWE Universe, particularly after his 2020 return at The Royal Rumble.

Edge said he tried to get over, using “every little old school heel trick in the book” (H/T Whatculture). Nonetheless, Edge said he’s extremely pleased with how things

Nevertheless, Edge said he’s extremely pleased with how things turned out when The Judgment Day kicked him out of the group he’d founded, and the faction rose to new heights.

The Judgment Day initially struggled to get over after they kicked Edge to the curb. Part of the problem was the group didn’t get much time. Once they did, they rose to the occasion. The group reached greater heights after Dominik Mysterio joined.

Edge Says He Couldn’t Get His Heel Turn Over

Analysis: Edge’s remarks are interesting because he turned heel twice after his WWE return. The first was when he challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. That turn was short-lived. In fact, some fans criticized the WWE for turning Edge babyface with no explanation.

Edge’s second heel turn in The Judgment Day seemed to be going well. The faction gave Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest a shot in the arm at a time when their careers were treading water. Adding Finn Balor to the group helped Balor as well.

The WWE’s decision to turn Edge babyface did happen at an opportune time. You may recall the WWE turned Edge babyface once it was clear Cody Rhodes would be off TV for several months due to his pectoral injury. Some fans and pundits questioned whether the WWE felt it needed a top babyface in Cody’s absence and Edge fit the bill.

Do you think Edge gave himself enough time to get over as a heel? Let us know in the comments below.

When they start saying again, “Ladies and Gentlemen” at online work, then I will return, but not until then! Florida is a common sense conservative state where most la-06 people have brains!
