WWE CEO Comments on Accusations Against Vince McMahon

Did Nick Khan excuse Vince McMahon’s alleged bad behavior? Let’s take a look at some comments from the WWE CEO and you can judge for yourself.

Sports analyst, podcaster, and Ringer CEO Bill Simmons interviewed Khan recently. They spoke about several things related to Vince McMahon’s return to the WWE.

Simmons asked Khan about Vince bringing back former co-Presidents Michelle Wilson and George Barrios with him to install them on the WWE Board of Directors:

“They know the company and they’re insiders,” Khan said. “There’s a shorthand with them.

Khan’s response continued:

So I think as he engages in this, you know, potential transaction to have folks there that know the company, that know hey maybe certain things that happened in the past shouldn’t have happened or in a modern day point of reference culture, which I always try to look at these things from that hey, certain things that were acceptable years ago aren’t acceptable now. I think over time you can evolve with these things and the modern day rules should apply to modern day. I don’t think it should apply to the past.”

Khan’s comment that modern rules should apply to the modern day may have merit. However, can McMahon’s alleged misdeeds from the past be justified as behavior somehow appropriate when they alleged occurred?

WrestleLamia has covered McMahon’s hush money payouts at length but let’s take a look at two instances where the WWE Chairman paid women for alleged misdeeds.

Vince McMahon’s Hush Money Hall of Shame Moments

Wrestling News’ Paul Davis listed the various allegations against McMahon. Here are two that present a good compare and contrast with Khan’s comments:

In 2005, McMahon allegedly coerced a female talent to give him oral sex. She stated that she declined later advances from him and she ended up getting a demotion and let go from her contract. An agreement was reached in 2018 for the wrestler to receive $7.5 million for her silence.

What about Khan’s previously mentioned comments that “I always try to look at these things from that hey, certain things that were acceptable years ago aren’t acceptable now.” Do you think McMahon’s alleged misbehavior in 2005 was acceptable back then?

How about this case involving a payout?

McMahon and a WWE contractor signed an NDA for $1 million after he allegedly sent her unsolicited nude photos. He also allegedly sexually harassed her on the job.

When might this have been acceptable? The 1980s? The 1990s? The 2000s? Never?

Analysis: Nick Khan’s comments ring hollow to me. Furthermore, they seem like the latest attempt to sweep McMahon’s well-documented payouts under the rug.

I make more then $12,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 11 to 12 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it…
:)AND GOOD LUCK.:)
