Looks like plans for Cody Rhodes to appear at the 8 April SmackDown have been scrapped as PWInsider’s Mike Johnson provided the following story:

We reported yesterday that Cody Rhodes was slated for tonight’s Smackdown taping, also likely for a dark match.  This morning, we were told that is no longer the plan and Rhodes is not expected for the taping.

Fans shouldn’t rule out a swerve, however, given the WWE’s fondness for leaking disinformation.

As WrestleLamia reported earlier this week, Cody worked a dark match against Kevin Owens after RAW. The WWE is going to find itself walking a fine line as it works to capitalize on Cody’s popularity without overexposing him.
