CM Punk Almost No-Showed AEW Dynamite

WOW….

CM Punk is back in the headlines after it was reported that Punk went off script last night on AEW Dynamite. According to Fightful Select, Punk “may have almost decided to not come to Dynamite”.

Punk challenged Hangman Page to a rematch on the August 17 episode of Dynamite, but according to Wrestling Observer, it wasn’t planned. Before Punk defeated Page at Double or Nothing, Punk and Hangman didn’t meet eye to eye on a promo. It’s also been reported that Punk outright refused to lose to Hangman at the PPV.

The belief amongst AEW talent is that Punk believes that Hangman went into business for himself, and Punk’s unplanned promo on August 17 was a “receipt”. Sources close to the situation claim that Punk has expressed his displeasure recently, and some thought he may end up quitting the company.

The Fightful Select report adds that one veteran in AEW have claimed that threats have been levied in relation to Punk walking out of the company. Additionally, those close to him said that he might have almost decided to stay home instead of coming to the August 17 Dynamite.

They knew he was a quitter when they hired him. Who cares let him go. Lot more talent to use anyway.
