Poignant Promo Leads to Character Change
Fans got to see Bray Wyatt on SmackDown, as the former Fiend thanked the fans for never giving up on him. Wyatt broke character during the speech, recalling the ups and downs since his WWE release.
The promo was cut short when the mysterious masked individual appeared on The Titantron. The enigmatic entity told Wyatt his life was done and that there was no future and no past.
Tonight’s promo was a good way to employ Wyatt’s well-documented struggles to get over in the WWE. Wyatt referencing how the character fans saw on TV wasn’t an accurate depiction of him opens the door for yet another new interpretation of the character.Some fans might even see Bray’s promo as a way to build sympathy for him before he embarks on what could be a very diabolical road.
