No Punk, No Problem Policy
Reports are coming in about AEW wrestlers refusing to work with CM Punk should the embattled wrestler return to All Elite Wrestling.
Let’s take a look at comments reportedly made by AEW wrestlers about their thoughts on Punk returning to AEW. While the current belief is that AEW is trying to buy out Punk’s contract and send him packing, Dave Meltzer is reporting in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that some wrestlers have made it clear how they feel about a Punk return:
In Norfolk on 10/26, it was noted that several of the top people were saying that Punk would not be back. A few names were mentioned with Chris Jericho being the name mentioned most but that many if not most of the key top names were saying that they wouldn’t work with him.

According to “Diamond” Dave, there’s a feeling among wrestlers that Punk isn’t worth bringing back:
One top star noted, “Punk won’t be back. His value on screen isn’t one percent worth the hassle and black cloud he causes backstage.”Another top star noted the team has decided he’s out and regardless of some being willing to work with him, the collective decided that he was voted off the island.

While it’s always best to be skeptical about wrestling news, it does seem unlikely that Punk is headed back to AEW.
AEW Wrestlers Refusing to Work with Punk
Analysis: CM Punk’s fall from grace in AEW is one of the biggest stories in contemporary wrestling. Unlike Punk’s 2014 exit from the WWE, there seems to be less sympathy for him among his fellow wrestlers and even fans (although it’s worth noting Punk still has plenty of fans).
While we may never know the exact details of what happened after the post-All Out media scrum and the alleged confrontation involving Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega), it will be interesting to see what long-term effects it has on AEW.
While AEW seems reegenerized by the locker room rallying after Punk, Steel, and The Elite’s suspension, the company still has to deal with Punk’s loss and how many fans will stop watching. While AEW continues to do well in the ratings, it has suffered a noticeable decline in ticket sales.
