Good news for AEW’s coffers as AEW Full Gear breaks the $1 million mark in ticket sales. AEW President Tony Khan tweeted the news:
TONIGHT's #AEWFullGear ppv is officially over a $1 million live gate!
— Tony Khan (@TonyKhan) November 19, 2022
It's the first time Full Gear has ever topped $1 million in tickets!
Tonight's @AEW's 4th straight ppv over $1 million live gate, 5th time total in 2022 (including Grand Slam).
See you TONIGHT for Full Gear!
This is some much-needed good news as AEW’s live event ticket sales have reportedly been sluggish over the last few months (with occasional exceptions).
Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online’s Josh Nason commented:
Double or Nothing marked the first time AEW hit the $1 million live gate number. The company also exceeded $1 million for September’s Grand Slam Dynamite/Rampage event in Queens, New York.

AEW is looking to score strong pay-per-view numbers too. Nason reviewed AEW’s past PPV numbers, noting:
AEW will hope to exceed last year’s estimated 155,000 pay-per-view buys for the same show, headlined by then-AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Page. The number was an increase from the estimated 75,000 the shows did in both 2019 and 2020.

AEW Full Gear Breaks $1 Million Mark
One of AEW’s surprising strengths has been its ability to score robust numbers in buy rates, particularly since pay-per-views cost $49.95 in the United States. While this figure isn’t high compared to other PPV products such as UFC, many wrestling fans are used to only paying $9.95 a month for the WWE Network on Peacock.
AEW’s PPV revenue has helped it and its continued success could help the company when its rights deals expire with Warner Brothers Discovery. Although the PPV numbers have little to do with TV ratings, they suggest a popular product.
Congratulations to AEW on its latest success.
