Another Rumored Release Date
It’s time for another AEW Fight Forever rumored release date story. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before but AEW’s long-awaited video game may have a concrete release date.
It’s prudent to be skeptical. After all, how many times have fans heard the game’s release is imminent? In the spirit of fairness to AEW Games, let’s at least look at this rumor.
Game Rant’s Kevin James Billings recently reported on two clues concerning the game’s release:
The first update was on Best Buy’s website, where the release date for Fight Forever was updated to read March 31, 2023. It would place the game’s release roughly two weeks after the release date for WWE 2K23, though it is also possible the date is a placeholder for a release date around that time.

While Best Buy’s site has the game listed for a 31 March 2023 release date, Amazon has it listed as 31 December 2023. There has been no official word from AEW about a release date. GameRant also mentioned a second reason the game may be released soon:
The second update comes courtesy of Fightful’s Will Washington, who spoke about the game during the Feb. 25, 2023, episode of Fightful’s Grapsody podcast. Washington said he was told AEW had filmed new marketing material for the game over the two previous weeks, suggesting AEW and THQ Nordic are preparing for a marketing push.

A Long Time Coming
Fight Forever was first announced in November 2023. AEW Executive Vice-President Kenny Omega told fans he was personally involved in the game. He added that he wanted to make sure this was a high-quality wrestling simulator.
Omega also pointed out that since this was AEW’s first video game, it would take time before it was ready for release. The game has undergone revisions, including a smaller roster than previously announced.
Some gamers and AEW fans are concerned due to the delays. Video games with chronic delays sometimes result in poor products. At the same time, games that are rushed are often poor products. AEW is in a difficult situation.
AEW Fight Forever Rumored Release Date
Analysis: It doesn’t make sense to release Fight Forever so close to WWE 2K23 unless AEW Games thinks its product is so good fans will rush to buy it. This seems unlikely as Fight Forever is the first game in the series. WrestleLamia would like to think AEW Games will release the game at a more opportune time.
