“The People’s Champion” Leaves Door Open for Future ‘Mania Match
Is The Rock wrestling at WrestleMania 40? While we know he won’t be wrestling at WrestleMania 39, apparently, he’s leaving the door open for next year’s “Showcase of the Immortals.”
The Rock’s commitments to the XFL reportedly have him booked to capacity. While he won’t wrestle at this year’s “Show of Shows,” what about making an appearance? Dave Meltzer discussed the possibility during a recent Wrestling Observer Radio, commenting:
“Dwayne could be there in some way or fashion.”

As for a match at WrestleMania XL, Meltzer mentioned:
“he left the door open for next year.”

Rock Wrestling at WrestleMania 40?
Analysis: The Rock may be available to compete next year but how realistic is this? The Rock isn’t getting any younger. Furthermore, he injured himself both times he returned to work a WrestleMania match (discounting his brief bout against Erick Rowan).
Why would The Rock put his acting career at risk for one last match? For that matter, why would he put his legacy at risk by working in a match where he might embarrass himself?
Let’s hope the WWE isn’t keeping the Undisputed Championship around Roman Reigns’ waist in the belief that he needs it for a match against The Rock, a match that may never happen.
