Goldberg could be AEW bound as early as tonight.
Goldberg’s WWE contract expired in February of this year, and despite rumours that he was going to sign another WWE deal, there’s been no news on any communication between the two sides.
Goldberg made his last appearance at the Elimination Chamber PPV where he lost to Roman Reigns, in what looks to be his final ever WWE match.
Interestingly, during the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer discussed that Goldberg was available to potentially replace MJF at tonight’s Double or Nothing PPV. This was strictly speculation on the part of Meltzer, and Meltzer adds that it would be incredibly expensive for Tony Khan to bring the former Universal Champion into the company.
This would be an odd placement for Goldberg, as he would be coming in as a huge surprise against the popular Wardlow. It would make more sense to debut a heel against Wardlow, as Goldberg is naturally going to get booed going up against one of AEW’s brightest, young stars.
